Go Local was founded in 2018 by owner Oda Wilhelmsdóttir Andreasen. She was born and raised in the Faroe Islands. She has been working in tourism for more than 16 years in the Faroe Islands and in the Nordic Region. She has been product manager for Stena Line Demnark, market Norway and Sweden as well DMO in Løkken in Denmark.

Oda’s passion and love for her Faroe Islands has brought her all around the islands, so she knows every island. Her spare time has been spent travelling around the Faroe Islands all year round.

Mykines has a special place in her heart, as she wrote her thesis about sustainable tourism on Mykines Island back in 1997. She worked with the Faroe Islands Tourist Board in the early 1990ies.

Go Local only makes small group tours with no more than 8 guests. It is important, that you feel like a guest, traveling with a local on all tours.
